Eating & Body Image

Many people develop difficult or compulsive relationships with food during times of stress, trauma, or emotional overwhelm. Over time it can feel like food, body image, and self-worth become tightly connected.

We live in a culture that sends constant messages about bodies, worth, and the “ideal” appearance. These messages can make it easy to feel like your body is something to fix or control rather than something to live in and care for.

In therapy, we look at how emotions, your body, and the ways you may have learned to cope with stress or shame all connect. The goal is not to control your body, but to understand your patterns and begin building a more peaceful, less critical relationship with yourself and food.

At Moonbow Mental Health, we take a weight-neutral, nonjudgmental approach that recognizes your worth is not determined by your body size or shape. Rather than focusing on weight loss, we support clients in moving away from shame and toward greater self-trust, flexibility, and care for themselves.
