Meet J
J Stack (they/them) is a queer, non-binary Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. They founded Moonbow Mental Health in 2021 with the goal of creating an affirming therapy space where LGBTQ+ folks and others navigating difficult relationships with themselves and their bodies can feel seen and accepted.
Their work focuses on helping clients who feel overwhelmed, self-critical, or stuck in patterns of overthinking and people-pleasing. J is especially interested in how people learn to silence themselves in order to cope and how those patterns can quietly turn into anxiety, burnout, and disconnection from their own needs. In therapy J gently explores these patterns with clients and supports them in building greater self-trust, awareness, and a more compassionate relationship with themselves and others.
When they’re not working with clients, J enjoys spending time with their wife and two dogs, especially outdoors and in nature. They also enjoy listening to electronic music, playing the drums, watching WNBA games, and trying new ice cream flavors. They value the small moments of connection, creativity, and joy that help make life feel more grounded.
Above all, J believes therapy should be a place where you don’t have to perform, fix yourself, or have everything figured out. Instead it can be a space to be honest, understood, and supported.
